The Conexus Thrive Certification Program provides the opportunity for eligible Conexus registered nurses to obtain certification in specialized areas. As a leading healthcare staffing organization, Conexus MedStaff recognizes the significance of professional development and career advancement in the evolving landscape of healthcare in the United States. Through this program, we aim to provide our nurses with the resources and support needed to excel in their chosen specialties, achieve their long-term goals, and contribute meaningfully to patient care.

Certification Offerings

The Conexus Thrive Certification Program offers certification preparation and exam sponsorship of various specialties through the American Nurses Credentialing Center (ANCC). Currently, Conexus offers the following certifications: 

  • Medical-Surgical Nursing (MEDSURG-BC): The ANCC Medical-Surgical Nursing board certification examination is a competency based examination that provides a valid and reliable assessment of the entry-level clinical knowledge and skills of registered nurses in the medical-surgical specialty after initial RN licensure. Once you complete eligibility requirements to take the certification examination and successfully pass the exam, you are awarded the credential: Medical Surgical Nurse – Board Certified (MEDSURG-BC™). This credential is valid for 5 years. 
  • Cardiac Vascular Nursing Certification (CV-BC): The ANCC Cardiac-Vascular Nursing board certification examination is a competency based examination that provides a valid and reliable assessment of the entry-level clinical knowledge and skills of registered nurses in the cardiac-vascular specialty after initial RN licensure. Once you complete eligibility requirements to take the certification examination and successfully pass the exam, you are awarded the credential: Cardiac Vascular Nurse – Board Certified (CV-BC™). This credential is valid for 5 years. 
  • Nursing Professional Development Certification (NPD-BC): The ANCC Nursing Professional Development board certification examination is a competency based examination that provides a valid and reliable assessment of the entry-level clinical knowledge and skills of registered nurses in the nursing professional development specialty after initial RN licensure. Once you complete eligibility requirements to take the certification examination and successfully pass the exam, you are awarded the credential: Registered Nurse-Board Certified (NPD-BC™). This credential is valid for 5 years.

Application Requirements

To be eligible to enroll in the Conexus Thrive Certification Program, eligible registered nurses must fulfill the following criteria:

  • Hold a current, active RN license within a state or territory of the United States
  • Have practiced the equivalent of two years full-time as a registered nurse at the time of the certification examination
  • Have a minimum of 2,000 hours of clinical practice in the area of your desired specialty certification within the last three years
  • Have completed 30 hours of continuing education in the area of your desired specialty certification within the last three years
  • Up-to-date credentials, yearly evaluations and completion of required trainings
  • Full-time employment, with a minimum of 30 hours worked per week

  • Interested and eligible candidates are invited to submit applications for the Conexus Thrive Certification Program using the below form. The deadline to submit an application for consideration is July 1. 
  • The selection process involves an anonymous and thorough review of each applicant's qualifications, achievements, and proposed plans for utilizing the certification.
